Seems that a more beneficial approach for prospective buyers would be to inform them that OFFERS ARE WELCOME, by providing an option to sellers to state as much: For Sale “1 ETH or Best Offer”
While “some” buyers may try or even know that offers are acceptable/welcomed, it would encourage offers if it were announced by the seller.
This is easily done with an option when selecting sale price, or format.
Fixed prices with no offers accepted, would be shown accordingly, or with a minor footnote.
I wouldn’t want a possible buyer to turn away on the presumption that offers were not welcomed, for as it is now, that could very well be the case to the new or uninitiated incoming audiences.
